Man, I thought we were just going to have a nice and chill Friday afternoon recording of the final week in IndyCar listener Q&A episode of the week.

And, well, yeah, not so much.

Yesterday, my racer.com, Formula One reporting colleague Chris Medland filed a delightful story

saying, hey, the thing we've been telling you is a possibility.

It looks like it's going to happen, that being Romain Grouchon joining Dale Coin Racing.

And even more fun, and this is among the many reasons i love the team it's the

character on display was awoken this morning by a text from one of their team members i'll see if i

can get permission to say who it is and share it with you here soon, but it was awoken by an early

morning text from one of the team members responding to a comment left by one of racer.com's

fine, amazing, upstanding commenters where they were taking the team to task a little bit, as my friends in England would

say, taking the piss out of them, saying that Romain will certainly be disappointed that they

probably don't even have an espresso machine at Dale Coin Racing. So woke up this morning to a

series of texts and a video of the team taking a bit of umbrage with that assertion.

And they even shot a little video of the espresso machine working just fine in the shop and then panning up showing the Dale Coin Racing neon sign.

It was just classic passive aggressive, kiss my bleep type response, mixed in with a lot of good humor

because they are a well-humored team.

So good on our friends at Dale Coin Racing, basically setting the record straight that it wasn't

a cheap machine either.

It looked like it was a pretty good one.

When Romain gets there and needs to get tuned up,

they do indeed have the ability to get his little synapsis firing with espresso.

So that was that.
