Hello and welcome to the disaster area movie break.

This is Jennifer, your normal average everyday host who is usually

fairly sober and very very serious uh but every once in a while we all need a break and when you're

talking about disasters and tragedies and horrific stories maybe we all need a break.

So the point of the movie break, which is what we're doing now, this very first movie break,

is to have kind of a timeout. Right now, I am about a sheet and a half to the wind.

I have discovered hard root beer, and a particular hard root beer, which tastes more like root beer than beer, which is very good for me.

And the reason that I'm drinking is because, like I said, it's a movie break.

I'm watching a movie, or I have watched a movie.

I've watched a couple of movies for this particular episode, actually, and I think it's only fair that I have something to drink. So I'm a little

buzzed and today I'm going to be talking about disaster movies or in particular one disaster

movie and the disaster movies that are related to it. Today I wanted to talk about,

well I wanted to talk about a lot of subjects. There were a lot of different angles that I wanted to go toward.

And, um, you know, I, I kind of debated which way I wanted to go, you know, if I wanted

to go, um, kind of a more, a more academic route and talk about

gender disparity and gender equality

in disaster movies,

in which there really isn't a lot of,

a lot of the time, even now.

Or I could, you know,

say, look at the dueling disaster movies

of the late 90s when they were putting out movies about
