And I'm Amy Robach.

And on this new year, unfortunately, we have

some breaking news to report at this hour. These are the latest numbers, but the breaking news is

out of New Orleans. Ten people are dead, at least ten people are dead, and 30 others injured

after a reportedly a man behind the wheel of a truck drove through celebrations around 3 o'clock in the morning overnight on Bourbon Street and plowed into a crowd of partygoers.

And according to some witnesses, got out of the truck then and opened fire.

So what we're looking at folks in New Orleans right now

is a major tragedy. On the first day of the new year, as you can imagine, where they say this

happens to the area of Canal and Bourbon Street, you cannot get more New Orleans and busier

on most nights even, but you throw in what was certainly a celebratory night

last night, and you also throw into the matter of there is a very big event happening

there in New Orleans today, there at the Superdome, the Sugar Bowl taking place between Georgia

and Notre Dame.

You know those fans travel and travel well, so a lot of them were certainly

in town last night and partying as well, but on what was going to be, where it was a busy
