Tonight's episode, Mormon Affinity Fraud and Bruce R. Maconkey.

This is a bit of a follow-up to the last episode which involved Bruce

or McConkey and his dealings with BYU religion professor George W. Pace back in

1980 and 1981. As you may recall from that episode, I was doing some

research on Bruce R. McConkey and I found a section in his Wikipedia article that talked about a

section in his Wikipedia article that talked about a fraud slash scam that he was involved in as a vice president

back in the The first thing that happened is that Lynn Packer, yes the nephew of Boyd K Packer, the one who broke the Paul H

Dunn story as well as other important stories. He's an investigative journalist par excellence and what he did

Lynn Packer was he forwarded to me a copy of an article that he wrote back in 1990 and

it was an article that was published in a magazine.

I think it was Holiday, Utah, or Utah Holiday magazine.

I have a slide with it on it here in a second.

And it was written in 1990, and it covered some of the main episodes of Mormon Affinity Fraud in Utah and one of those

episodes that he covered was the one involving Bruce R. McConkey. So there's a little more information in there

about what was involved with Bruce or McConkey

and what Bruce or McConkey was involved in,

to put it chiastically.

I'm gonna get to that here in a second. I was also quite honored and

flattered that in the comments section I began receiving comments from members of

George W. Pace's family.
