I mean, this has been an offseason like none other, because I feel like the offseason for me started around the Memphis game last year. I think that was when I said,

you know what? I'm going to focus on 2025 and not worry so much about 2024. So it feels like

it's been since Ireland, maybe the first half of the BC game, that I thought there's a reason

to really care about what's going on with this Florida State football team.

So I'm excited to get that back again. I want to see what this team looks like. Well, and there's a lot to discuss too. One of the interesting things of how practice is laid out and the media availability have laid out so far this camp is this is the last time. Today was the last time unless they come back that the coordinators speak, Ira, to the media, until you get after the Alabama game.

That was one morning after Mike Norvell spoke to the media last night around 930, 10 o'clock after Florida State scrimmage number two.

Again, we said it when the schedule first came out, Ira, that it was different for Florida State to have two scrimmage number two. Again, we said it when the schedule first came out, I heard, that it was different for Florida State to have two scrimmages so soon. They got 15 practices to go, and they've already done that twice. Usually scrimmage number two, historically when we've been covering the team, at least 15 years I've been here, that's usually when the depth chart is released, like straight out of scrimmage number two. They're still formulating opinions, but they're getting a lot of heavy work in. Yeah, usually the second scrimmage is kind of like the week before the season.

It's like a dress rehearsal for the season. And sometimes the second scrimmage isn't even that

high impact, but that's a program

that's you know kind of running the way we traditionally viewed college football programs or

you had players you know a lot of times that second scrimmage veterans wouldn't even play much

because they've been in the program for three or four or five years. The coaches know what's to be

expected of them. The players know what's expected of them. And you're kind of, they've been through

it. This is totally different. You know, this is still two coordinators, still learning this

roster. But I do think you get the sense that even though it was earlier, you get the sense that they have a pretty firm command on what the starting 22 is going to be.

Now the question is, okay, can a few more receivers step up?

Can a few more offensive linemen step up to be that second group?

Can a few more defensive linemen and defensive back step up?

To solidify the two deep, I feel like if you could get them to admit it, I think Gus Malzon and Tony White would tell you they know they're starting 22. Brett, you're going to hit the under here. There's the comment. He says, let's see how long it takes for them to mention Tony's presser. I put the over under at five minutes from now.'m taking the under. That was one minute ago. So there you go, Brett. To me, that was a
