And we're going to be having another big picture talk about where Florida State is tonight, I think, over the course of the next hour. We've made it into the month of November. Florida State has a kickoff, another prime time against Virginia Tech this weekend.

But Ira, I got to tell you, it's going to be very difficult to focus on the football game this week.

It feels like we're focusing on where does Florida State go from here. And I'm wondering,

just your general thoughts as somebody who's

worked in this business a long time. This is kind of a new one, kind of a new middle ground scenario

to be. And I wonder if maybe you draw on past experiences or if you think that this is kind of its own

unique thing as well. It's pretty unique. I mean, honestly, in some ways, it was kind of similar

to men's basketball last season, you know, in a much different scale. I mean, honestly, in some ways, it was kind of similar to men's basketball

last season, you know, in a much different scale. I mean, the interest was not there that is there

for Florida State Football, obviously. But, you know, we knew Leonard Hamilton's contract was up.

He did not get extended. They were coaching out that season. And basically the feeling all year was,

you know, if he makes a run and they go out and win a, you know, go to the NCAA tournament,

then maybe you give him another one year deal. When it was clear that wasn't going to happen,

you know, we still had to go cover the games. We had to start to go talk to Leonard Hamilton and

ask him questions about the team in the program, but kind of knowing that this is going to be the end of the road, even though they wouldn't confirm it. So it's kind of like, it's just what we do around here these days. But it's obviously much different. Stakes are so much bigger in football, much bigger audience, more people paying attention. Passions are hotter.

And so it is a little bit weird.

You know, I thought that the Clemson game was covering the Clemson game is a little strange

in the sense that, you know, to your point, you know, the bigger picture topic is what

is that on everybody's mind.

But also the game was right there to be won
