All About Crime. I'm Mama Jules, and let's start with the discovery of a missing hiker in Wyoming.

This a month after he messaged his wife

saying he was tired and trying to get back to his car. Now before we learn about his disappearance,

let me tell you about the Big Horn Mountains. The Cloud Peak Wilderness rides the spine of

Wyoming's Big Horn Wilderness. The area is filled with granite walls and

U-shaped glacier valleys. The high basins are dotted with lakes, the premier lake being misty moon

lake. Elevation is high here, about 10,000 to 13,000 feet above sea level, which means the snow

lingers in the higher areas well into mid-July.

Now, I read several reviews about the trail area, and hikers warn about nasty weather rolling in

quickly, and also altitude sickness, because you climb in elevation quickly.

Now, most hikers log around 22 to 25 miles in a round trip with an

ascension of nearly 5,400 feet. And most hikers attempt the trip in two to three days. Now I could

keep telling you about this hike, but I would say the most relevant information here is that afternoon thunderstorms roll in often

and summiting should occur by early afternoon.

That seems to be part of the issue here with 38-year-old Grant Gardner.

Now Grant, who lives in Lakeville, Minnesota, was like a type A personality, meticulous with his planning and

acutely aware of his abilities in the wild. Grant had a plan in place. His goal? Summut the 13,166-foot

mountain called Cloud Peak, which is the tallest mountain in the Big H horns. Grant intended to hike around Misty Moon Lake

to the top of the cloud peak in three days. And like I said, this seems to be the recommended
