And today we're going to be covering some sort of basic financial advice for the self-employed.

Now, this came out of a request on my Facebook page from Rachel, who is fairly newly self-employed, and as ever, dear listener, your wish is my command. So Rachel asked me to cover this, and it's my pleasure to do so.

So I hope, Rachel, that you find it useful and that everybody else does too. Now, according to the latest

figures from the Office of National Statistics, there are 4.6 million

self-employed workers in the UK. That's 15% of the total working population. That's the highest

proportion, actually, that there's ever been, so I'm told. But what are the financial implications

of being self-employed? Stay tuned for that. We're going to cover that in detail.
