Welcome back to Machine Learning Guide. I'm your host, Tyler Rinelli.

0:05.0

MLG teaches the fundamentals of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

0:09.0

It covers intuition, models, math, languages, frameworks, and more.

LLH. This is episode seven, logistic regression.

0:57.4

In this episode, we're going to talk about classifiers, namely the logistic regression

1:02.1

classifier algorithm.

1:04.5

So remember where we are in the artificial intelligence tree.

1:07.5

We've gone down to machine learning, down to supervised learning, and then supervised learning

1:12.2

is broken down into two subfields, classification and regression.

1:17.0

We've studied regression last episode with linear regression, which will give you a continuous

1:22.5

variable output, a number, so the cost of a house in Portland, Oregon. And now we're going to talk about

1:29.4

classification, which will give you the class of a thing. Am I looking at a cat, a dog, a tree,

1:35.0

a house? Or in the case of binary classification, is this a dog? Yes or no? Zero or one.

1:40.8

Now, you may have noticed right off the bat the word logistic regression. That is really

1:45.7

confusing. Wait, I said that supervised learning is broken down to into regression and classification.

1:50.9

So those are two separate categories. And now we're talking about logistic and linear regression.
