It's Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in consistency as in my view of MLB's Department of Investigations

and their handling of different cases with different players for any violations of the

joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy.

The background of that division is the commissioner's office realized that it needed more than

one person to handle all of the things that were happening.

When they started this policy and when they negotiated with the union, they came up with

this and it's a mouthful, the joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy.

They realized that it can't just be one person, they don't want to hire outside counsel,

there's all sorts of other investigations going on, going back to A-Rod and Balco when

they were down in Florida and they were trying to hide evidence and buy witnesses and all

of the things they were doing.

It's a very, very well staffed department full of very, very smart people, but they are

acting at the behalf, the hast of the commissioner.

What their job is to do is to get witnesses with no subpoena power, to get information,

to get documents with no subpoena power, to interview witnesses with no subpoena power,

to try to get information to the commissioner, to the commissioner and his lieutenants,

Dan Hallem, etc., can figure out what punishments that they should be handing out and then what

the likelihood of those punishments actually standing through a grievance and through an

arbitration.
