Summary

In this episode, I’m speaking with Robert Naviaux, MD, Ph.D., the revolutionary mind behind the Cell Danger Response, a landmark contribution to the study of chronic fatigue and other long-term illnesses.

In this podcast, Dr. Naviaux and I discuss:

  • The true underlying driver of chronic illness, from myalgic encephalomyelitis to Lyme disease to depression (it’s not what you think!)

  • The fascinating two-sided physiology that keeps you fit and healthy but can also make you incredibly ill

  • 2 pathways of disease that no one is discussing and how to ensure your body is resolving dysfunction instead of keeping you sick

  • A new approach to medicine that will forever change the way we (successfully!) address chronic disease…and steps you can take today

Hey there, this is Ari. Welcome back to the Energy Blueprint podcast.

With me today is someone very special, someone whose work has had an enormous influence on me,

0:17.0

on my thinking, and on my paradigm through which I teach about human health and especially

0:24.2

energy. And that is Dr. Robert Navio. He is a man who is very hard to wrangle into doing a

0:30.8

podcast. I've literally been trying for years to get him to do this. And with the help of a mutual

0:36.5

friend, Dr. Eric Gordon, he was able to

0:39.4

nudge him a little bit in a way that made this happen. Dr. Robert Navajo is a physician and a researcher

0:47.6

who runs a lab for mitochondrial medicine at the University of California, San Diego. It's a place that I've actually had the pleasure of going to.

0:57.0

I've gone to his lab. I've had the pleasure of meeting him in person and having a little

1:01.0

private session, tutoring session, you could say, on insights into mitochondrial health and the cell danger response.

1:11.5

As I just alluded to, he is the scientist and researcher behind the paradigm of the cell danger response,

1:20.9

which is, I would say, maybe arguably the single most important piece of research and paper in our generation,

1:32.3

as far as health science and our understanding of many different chronic diseases.

1:36.3

I know countless experts and practitioners that have been hugely influenced by Dr. Navajo's research, myself included.

1:47.1

So it has been a distinct honor and privilege to do this podcast episode with Dr. Navajo.

1:54.8

I think that his work is among the most influential and brilliant work of our generation from any scientists.

2:03.6

So with no further ado, I hope you enjoy this podcast with the brilliant, wonderful Dr. Robert Navajo.

2:11.6

So Dr. Navajo, thank you so much. It is really a great honor to have you here.

2:15.6

I have been trying to make this happen for many, many years,

2:19.3

and I know that you are generally reluctant to do these kinds of things,

2:23.3

so I really appreciate it.

2:25.3

And as I said to you before starting this recording,
