Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend that host Steve Robertson here on the early morning edition of the yard.

Ordinarily, I would wait until the emotion of the disappointing loss had given away to a good night's slumber.

But I'm wide awake and very disenfranchised when it comes to Mississippi State men's basketball.

And, yeah, listen, you know, to be fair about this, you know, listen, we did not expect this team to be great this year.

But I'm not going to sit here and excuse this performance that we had against Ole Miss.

And I'm not going to sit here and talk poorly of Ole Miss.

And if some people expect that, you know, listen,

Ole Miss is not a great basketball team issue.

They're seven and six.

And it had won one league game and it lost three games in a row

and five of the last six, and they came to Humphrey Coliseum, and they completely outplayed,

out-hustled, and out-tuffed Mississippi State.

They had more intensity in the ballgame, and that is very concerning.

That is extremely concerning.

Mississippi State, with everything to play for, with a very, very difficult schedule ahead, and we went out and didn't play well.

And it's interesting, you know, I spoke with a friend of mine earlier in the day, and he said,

you know, I'm worried about the ballgame, not just because it's Ole Miss and not just because of the fact that, you know,

Kermit Smith clearly has an axe to ground with his alma mater.

I'm concerned with the fact that we've been so up and down this year and we won that big game, Florida.

Can we handle success?

I talked about on Monday show that we would get Ole Miss's best effort.
