It is Wednesday.

We are one day closer to football season, which is among the most glorious things in our lives.

Today, a little bit later today, and I guess for some of you when you're listening to this,

it depends on your timing.

Joe Morhead will meet with the SEC Media for a bit of a dog and pony show.

And I had a chance to speak with Joe yesterday.

Most of the media is in Hoover.

Dave Murray will cover for us today.

I went to the extravaganceza last night, had never been. I'm going to talk a lot about that today.

Talk about the importance of those events.

I've already written a column today about that.

It gets some quotes from Chris Lamontas and Joe Morhead,

but I want to share with some things we learned last night.

But also, too, it's important, you know, when Mississippi State comes to town,

you need to be there.

Okay, and I say this with as much love, respect, and admiration as I possibly can.

But when Mississippi State comes to your town, when they load up the jet, Michael Richardson and his group, Janet Downey, loved them, known them for many, many years, when they pack

the car and they come to your town, We need to get out and support these events.

I thought last night we had a good crowd, didn't have a great crowd.
