Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on a

magnificent Monday edition of the yard as we celebrate our first SEC win of the young 2019 football season. Your Bulldogs now 3 and 1 on the year. To be fair, we had hoped to be four and O, expected to be four and O.

We're not. We're three and one. However, big win on Saturday is the Bulldogs best Kentucky,

which has become generally an annual right of passage, and if you'll allow me an opening rant here

for a moment or two.

One of the things that is interesting to me is that Mississippi State has dominated this rivalry.

I believe 11 wins in the past 13 years, and one of those losses took a case of Mississippi State suffering from sermonitis in 2016, and it still took a career-long

field goal for Kentucky to steal a win. You could make the argument last year 2018,

Mississippi State went to Kentucky and laid an egg, but Kentucky won the ballgame. Benny Snell

won the ballgame. Josh Allen won the ballgame. They were at the end of a talent cycle. They get us at home.

We go up there and I really think we kind of got caught looking ahead to Florida. We didn't

play our best ball game and we lose. But to hear the Kentucky media talk, you would think

this is an even series it guys it's not

even as of late you know Mississippi State now holds the all-time lead in the

series but for the past 13 years Mississippi State is 11 and 2 against Kentucky

and so when I read and hear these things,

I think one of us doesn't know much about football, and it's not me.

It's not me.

And so when I read some of our fans kind of regurgitating those talking points, I think, okay, what's going on here?

People say, well, you know, know Steve Kentucky's got that big front they got that big offensive line they've got that big defensive line they

got a couple of good linebackers and all that's true Every bit of it's true.

But Mississippi State has out recruited Kentucky.
