I posted my lineup about four days ago on social media, and I went through a lot of the

0:06.8

mentions, and most people were angry with my thinking. And my big thought is that I want to hit

0:12.9

Pete Alonzo second. So let's just get that out of the way. Okay. Just throw it out there. I have an

0:18.2

unconventional thought, a thought that has been widely ridiculed by my fellow

0:23.6

Met fans, and that is, why would you hit Pete Alonzo second? So the old adage, or actually,

0:29.7

it's the new adage in Major League Baseball, is you want your best hitter hitting first,

0:33.3

or your best hitter hitting first and second, mainly because they get more plate appearances.

0:37.7

And it's simple math and it makes a lot of sense.

1:11.3

fourth, you're going to lose about 30 to 40 plate appearances. So I fully understand that.

1:16.9

And I want my best hitters hitting as often as humanly possible. So logic would tell you,

1:22.3

well, based on that, how is it not Lindor and Soto 1-2? Now, I think we are going to see a lot of Lindor-Soto 1-2, and there may be a time where

1:31.0

I'm going to even say, go Lindor-Soto 1-2.

1:34.2

I want to give you my thought on why I'm intrigued by Pete Alonzo batting second.

1:38.4

So since Pete Alonzo was called up in 2019, he has had so many different guys hitting behind him.

1:49.3

And I do think that matters.

1:50.9

I know there's not an exact stat to prove it one way or the other,
