This is just after Elijah has come across the waters. He has a little incident there with the captains of 50 strong men.

great question and in this case I mean I always thought of of it as the spring going bitter, but here, as you've just read that, it says it's not and the ground is barren. So that almost sounds like it's just stopped flowing, but maybe it's gone bitter. I don't know that. So the issue is Jericho is known for, it was called the city of palm trees even before this we've seen

that and judges and so on it's known it's down low and it's got good water and so because of this
