Summary

What with the news of a viable Covid vaccine in the works and a Biden Harris administration on the horizon, you may be having an unusual feeling, one that you vaguely recognise but can’t quite put your finger on... Well, friends, it might just be Optimism. We're a few weeks into lockdown two in the UK, and seeing as we talked about joy at the start of the first one, it feels like good symmetry to call on our optimistic reserves this time around. As the global pandemic drags on, we think it's a good muscle to flex. So join us as we ask, what does it really mean to feel optimistic now? How does it work for us, and how can we nurture it in a helpful way? Plus some aural and visual recommendations for when reading isn't hitting the spot.

How about you?

0:47.3

Yeah, totally.

0:48.6

Although I have to admit, I don't think I've completely unnumbed yet.

0:52.2

Like, I found the anxiety of the run-up to the election

0:55.4

and that interminable week of vote counting so intense that I think I dissociated really. And I don't

1:01.5

think I've quite reconnected all the wires yet. So I feel a bit like I'm hovering above my like

1:05.7

joyful relief and just kind of going, wait, but really can I but also we're you know we're in

1:14.3

lockdown number two which makes opportunities for real release a bit harder to come by and I think

1:18.8

that's part of it too I feel like I need to gather you know with people and have a collective

experience of that relief and that joy and we tried to do it over zooms and friends and I. But obviously we peaked too soon. We started on the first night of the election. And it was like the schoolboy era. We are at Minnesota 17, which is kind of wild. Yes, I know. Sweet 17. I feel like I say it's wild every single number, though, which is absurd.

1:46.5

So maybe it's not wild at all because guess what?

1:48.4

Follow 16, Carrie, 17.
