Summary

Welcome to Minisode Monday, where we kick off the week with something quick and actionable -- to make you more magnetic and effective -- that you can implement right away. This time around, Eyes Wide Open: Overcoming Obstacles and Recognizing Opportunities in a World That Can't See Clearly author Isaac Lidsky returns (make sure to check out his full episode here) to talk about the three rings of perception -- how we view ourselves in the world, how the world views us, and how we view the way others view us. Let's get to it! The Cheat Sheet: According to Isaac Lidsky, there are three rings of perception. Ring One: Our perception of self. Ring Three: How we're perceived by others. Ring Two: Our perception of others' perception of us. It's important to remember that these are perceptions, and not necessarily reality. Here, Isaac shares what he does to gauge the accuracy of his perceptions. Want to put these into action for yourself? 0:58.8

thinking about that sort of more deeply it seems to me there's really kind of three rings to the

1:03.6

sort of a mental sort of circus of perception right so in in the first is our perception of

1:11.8

ourselves right ourselves image ourselves perception self-construct ego and what not and then

1:18.0

sort of in the third ring on the opposite side of the stage if you will you know is how we're viewed

1:23.2

how people view us the sort of barrage of cues we get from from society from those around us about

1:28.8

you know who we are what we should be like you know sort of those cues real or imagined by the way

1:35.3

and then kind of in the middle in the sort of second ring the largest by far is is this you know

this notion of our perception of others perception of ourselves this kind of doubly distorted view
