Summary

I'm launching a new podcast! Don't worry, CFP isn't going anywhere. ;) This is a podcast about another topic near + dear to my heart--children's books and how they're made. In this minisode, I'm sharing the trailer + also explaining why I wanted to share this show with all of you, the sweet listeners of the Catholic Feminist Podcast.

Basically, God? He answered some serious promises. + I want to take you all with me on this journey.

If you're having a hard time finding it, search for "Claire Swinarski" or "makingamiddlegrade" in podcasts. You can also listen at claireswinarski.com/podcast.

0:40.4

listeners. I am launching a new podcast. Before we go on I want to

0:45.8

make it clear that the Catholic feminist is not going anywhere. You can still

0:49.8

expect new episodes every Wednesday from the Catholic feminist about women and the church

0:55.1

and our place in faith, so don't be worried about that.

So first of all, the podcast is called Making a Middle Grade.

1:12.4

As so many of you know, my day job is actually being a children's book author and my first novel

1:18.7

for kids is coming out in May 2020. So I created a show called Making a Middle Grade that's going to be only 10

1:27.1

episodes long, so it's kind of a mini abbreviated show. It's going to air starting on September 3rd of this year, so in just a few weeks,

1:35.0

until June of 2020 once a month, and it's going to walk people through how a book is made,

1:41.0

how it goes from a daydream and an author's head to like a real life book that you can buy in a store.

1:47.0

Specifically we're talking about traditional publishing of fiction.

1:51.0

So I created this because when I went down the fiction writing route, it was a lifelong dream of mine,

1:57.6

but I had no idea how so much of this worked. I had no clue how a book got made. I knew that they got written and that they were in

2:03.9

stores but I didn't know what happened in between. And yes I've written Gerelour guys

2:07.7

and I'm so so blessed and lucky that that was my first book published by Ave Maria
