I don't want to alienate our non-American listeners but today is July 4th so I thought that we would do a very quick food and

wine pairing podcast mini on what you should get for 4th of July if you're headed out to a

barbecue, if you're headed out to a barbecue if you're

grilling out at home and if you're just generally interested in the red white

and rosay of pairing with gold food I guess it doesn't hardly have to be for Independence Day, but because it is, I'm going to recommend that you get either French or American wine, since let's be honest to our British listeners if you did happen to pick

this one up we never could have won without the French so we sort of owe them

something all right so there's kind of three categories of food for 4th of July.

First, there's the grilled stuff.

That's the main course that most people are concerned about

if you're gonna have wine, what you're gonna to have and I say first let's start with the

rosay because if you're having hot dogs rosay is going to be awesome if you're just having a

regular plain burger or two and you're not putting too much stuff on it, a nice French

rosé or an American rosé with a lot of fruit flavor is going to go very nicely.

So I would definitely recommend rosé.

Rousé is also extremely versatile.

So it's going to go with things like pasta salad or potato salad too.

You got that and you got the fact that it's super refreshing.

Chill it down, bring it. My favorites,

Sheenon from the looire, make some really nice rosés. You can get great rosé from Saint-Caire

if you're going French. And of course course Sonoma County has some really great ones.

You can get some good ones also from Mendocino

if you're looking to stay in California.
