| 0:00.0 | Welcome, guys and galas of The Man Talk Show. I'm Connor Beaton, and today we are going to talk about |
| 0:05.5 | how to face failure, how to learn from it, how to grow from it, the different types of failure |
| 0:10.4 | and how it shows up. And basically how we can leverage failure because the reality is that |
| 0:15.1 | failure is a universal constant, right? Every single human being in existence who has ever lived in some capacity |
| 0:22.7 | has failed. You know, even when you look at the stories of, you know, some of the most, quote, |
| 0:28.2 | unquote, enlightened beings in the universe, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, the Buddha, you know, |
| 0:34.6 | Gautama Buddha, all of those individuals, there, you know, there's stories |
| 0:38.0 | of some form of failure in their life. So no one is above reproach when it comes to failure. |
| 0:43.5 | No one's above reproach when it comes to suffering. And this isn't to say that that knowledge |
| 0:48.5 | should somehow alleviate our suffering. You know, sometimes people want to compare failures |
| 0:53.3 | and be like, oh, my business fell apart, but that's okay because, you know, and then they look at and they compare their failure to someone else's and they say, well, it's not as bad as theirs. And really that's a way of like failure bypassing. You know, a lot of people don't learn lessons from failure because they failure bypass. And it's one of the worst freaking things |
| 1:11.6 | that they can do. So if you're listening to this podcast, look at your life right now, look at the |
| 1:16.4 | failures in the past couple of years and really take stock and account of where you may have |
| 1:22.5 | failure bypassed in the past. Where have you in the past failed in some capacity professionally in your |
| 1:28.5 | relationship with your kids and where you have just bypass that failure and you haven't |
| 1:33.7 | learned any lessons from it? You haven't, you know, really taken the time to dig into it. |
| 1:38.5 | And you've just kind of said like, ah, it wasn't that bad or it's not bad compared to so |
| 1:43.2 | and so is failure. |
| 1:48.1 | So one of the reasons why I'm bringing this up is because somebody reached out on Instagram and basically said, hey, look, I'm going through this really challenging time. |
| 1:53.2 | I've had this, you know, my business is struggling, my marriage is struggling. |
| 1:57.3 | I don't know what to do. |
| 1:58.8 | How do you deal with failure? |
