Welcome to the Phoenix Helix podcast dedicated to autoimmune resilience. Today, I have a mindset minisode for you, so let's dive right in.

Thank you. Hey everyone. So today we're going to be talking about kindness. So my regular listeners know that these mindset minisodes are based on a book I wrote called Healing Mindset. It's a guide to the mind-body connection for people

with autoimmune disease. And I wrote the book to be easy to read and easy to reference. And a

fun way to use the book is to just open it to any page and see what message is there for you

actually. I wasn't sure what technique to share today for this mindset minisode. And I flipped open

the book and it brought me to a page where it talked about kindness. It was exactly what I needed

I was having kind of a down mood today,

and I definitely was looking for a mood boost,

and it turns out that kindness is one of the best mood boosts around.

So I love that there is research into the power of kindness.

Not only does kindness boost happiness, but the joy of giving lasts longer than the joy we get

from receiving. And there's something special about the spirit of generosity. It fills us with

feelings of abundance and positive self-esteem,

and with chronic illness, we're often consumed with the opposite emotions. Symptoms can be draining,

might leave us feeling scared, lacking, and insecure. And that's why this practice is a powerful

Anyone in any circumstance has something to give, even when your mind is telling you otherwise.
