They're all Republicans in this country that are still living in 1953. They still believe that if you're just decent and honorable and you're a Republican and you're a conservative, that's enough.

And those crazy pesky kids that have gone off to university and are trying to burn the flag, you know, there's more of us than there are them.

You've got to just call the dean down at the university and tell him, you know, don't let those kids run him up.

And you just keep fighting more wars and sending our boys abroad and wear the flag, pray in public and talk about goodness.

And we'll just keep winning.

Because we're the solid majority and that worked, worked for a long time.

Let's look at who won the presidential elections year by year by party.

1952 Republican Dwight Eisenhower, 1956 Republican Dwight Eisenhower, 1960 Republican Richard Nixon, but it was stolen from him.

So Democrat John F. Kennedy 1964 LBJ.

But Goldwater was not an ideal candidate and there was still the Camelot hangover.

So you got a Democrat having won two elections in a row, 1968.

Richard Nixon Republican, 1972 Nixon Republican, 1976 Ford almost beats Carter, but Carter wins because of Watergate.

Then let's go to 1980 Ronald Reagan, the guy who should have won in 1976.

Wallops Carter 1984 Morning in America Republican Ronald Reagan wins in 84 1988 two terms of the Reagan administration, his vice president.

Beats Democrat Michael Ducakis, you've had 12 straight years by 1992 of Republicans and you would have had four more.

But Ross Perot got in and split the Republican vote and with 43% of the popular vote, Bill Clinton wins.

Wins again in 96 because Dull was a terrible candidate 2000.

Bush wins Republican again 2004.

Bush Republican again.

And then everything changed starting in 2008.

The Democrats elected a community organizer.
