Welcome back, friends. This is Zach Evanesh. This is the Strong Life podcast episode 425 with Mike Jolly,

who is the founder and the creator of the Iron Neck. This was a great conversation. And I've met Mike

quite a while back. I think it was 2016 at Sorenick Summer Strong. And this conversation is probably not like the typical conversations he's had on podcasts where the whole thing centers around neck training.

So when I met Mike in 2016, back then he was in his 50s.

So now he's in his 60s.

And I just remember saying, man, you look much younger.

And so we got into strength training, as I always say, as we quote, get older, unquote.

And we spoke about his football days and wrestling days at UCLA.

So we picked up on that conversation exactly where we left off.

But we spoke about a lot of interesting topics from his early introduction to strength training

at UCLA to how it progressed as free weights and strength training became more of the norm.

We spoke about something that a lot of people don't know about him,

which is his acting career. And wait until you see the movies he talks about. If you're in

your 40s, you know some of the 80s and early 90s movies that he acted in. We also spoke about

something, some advices I came across. and it was something to the effect of men

should be getting a new job every seven to eight years. And I saw that as like a quote somewhere.

And I also remember Mark Bell talking about it when him and I did a seminar together way back in

the day. And his parents used to

live in New York at the time and his dad drove down to New Jersey to meet up with him and he was

talking about those things. So we talk about career. We talk about neck training. We talk about

the old school strength training. He even spoke about how even though he has this neck training device,

that people still get too fancy with everything.
