New York City Mayor Eric Adams federally indicted.

Eric Adams has been indicted on charges including wire fraud, bribery, and conspiracy out of the Southern District of New York,

becoming the first sitting New York City mayor to face criminal prosecution.

Some of the charges include conspiracy, wire fraud, bribery, and solicitation of a contribution

by a foreign nation.

According to federal prosecutors, Adams accepted illegal, quote, straw contributions

to his campaign going back nearly a decade.

For nearly a decade Adam sought and accepted improper valuable benefits such as luxury international

travel, including from the wealthy foreign business people and at least one Turkish

government official seeking to gain influence over him. The indictment reads

As Adam's prominence and power grew, his foreign national benefactors sought to cash in on their corrupt

relationships with him particularly when in 2021 became clear that Adams

would become the New York City Mayor. This all according to the unsealed indictment

out today.

Mayor Adams is not expected to turn himself in until next week.

With 40 days until election day, Gallup has some great polling for Republicans.

More American adults identify as Republicans in the third quarter of the presidential

year for the first time in recorded history, this according to the new Gallup polling.

The finding is rather significant because party identification is a strong

indicator of party preferences leading into the November presidential House and
