Hello everybody. I'm John Fawson with this Great America Show Midday Update for Thursday, January 9th.

Those California wildfires that are rip roaring through L.A. and the Greater County area,

showing no signs of relenting. Here's what we know so far about those wildfires.

They're out of control in the greater Los Angeles area, and they've killed at least five people

and forced nearly 180,000 people from their homes. Folks, it's not just one fire burning. At least five fires are

burning covering more than 45 square miles, sparked by dry conditions and powerful winds,

causing unprecedented scenes in areas not known for fires. What the Marxist mainstream media is leaving out is that

there's something called wildfire management and forest management and wildfire prevention management

where the governor and the mayors and the local municipalities are supposed to take care of their

areas to ensure that things like this don't happen.

This is something President Trump has been speaking about in his first term,

and then as recent as just a few months ago when he was in California,

blaming Governor Gavin Newsom for failing to get his act together.

I mean, the fire hydrants are literally dry.

They have many issues in the counties with fire staffing, budgets.

The list goes on about things that are wrong in California and specifically in L.A.

The Palisades Fire, the one that started, has burned through more than 17,000 acres, almost 27 square miles.

It's destroyed 1,000 structures, and it's entirely uncontained,

making it the most destructive in L.A. history.

The latest blaze, the sunset fire, started yesterday shortly before 6 p.m. in the Hollywood Hills.

Folks, this latest fire has grown to 60 acres and its threatening iconic landmarks.

More than 350,000 energy customers without power early today, including 200,000 in LA County, the most populous county, in the country.
