Summary

In this episode we tackle some of the biggest takeaways and talking points from the Wolverines’ 48-42 triple-overtime win at Rutgers.

We begin by looking at redshirt freshman quarterback Cade McNamara’s performance, and if we think that means he will start and be Michigan’s primary quarterback the rest of the way. We also look at what an apparent switch at quarterback means for Joe Milton, the repercussions for the rest of the offense and how valid McNamara’s performance was.

We then switch to the defensive side of the ball, and discuss if there’s truly any hope for Michigan’s defense after another brutal performance. We discuss if any change can be made the rest of the way, along with other factors that have led to the Wolverines' defensive demise.

We also discuss how much of Michigan's improved running game was Michigan and how much was Rutgers, and discuss fair expectations for the Wolverines the rest of the way.

Rough,

rough game for Michigan until Cade McNamara got into the game.

0:43.1

He finished the game 27 for 36 for 260 yards and four touchdowns.

0:50.2

I would argue, I mean, there's a few things that Michigan did well once he got in to help them.

0:56.6

But I would argue Michigan does not win the game if they wait another five minutes to put Cade McNamara in.

1:02.5

That is my personal look on it.

1:04.8

And so let's do, I'm trying to think of the best way to phrase the true false, but it will be discussing Cade and Joe Milton.

1:14.8

Actually, I got one in my Twitter mailbag story over the weekend, and maybe this is an interesting way to frame it.

1:22.6

Joe Milton will not start another game for Michigan this season, true or false.

1:30.2

Based on what you saw from Joe Milton, based on what you saw from Cade McNamara.

1:35.2

The rest of the season, is this Cade show?

1:40.2

I mean, you're, I would assume, I would guess that McNamara starts the last three games of the season.

1:48.8

I think it'd be hard to, I mean, I read a stat after the game that said McNamara was the only the fourth quarterback in Michigan history to pass for four touchdowns in Rush for one in the same game.

And I know Gardner.
