The 800 rural hospitals are at risk of closure due to financial problems.

This is even before the big, beautiful bill and all the things that are happening with our health care,

40% of those hospitals

are at immediate risk of closure.

This is a problem.

People are going to be living in health deserts coupled with Medicaid and Medicare and

the price of prescription medicine.

We're going to have to do something.

And so let me welcome somebody who can help

us work through where we are and what we can do. She is a health equity evangelist. That's what she's

What concerns you most about our current health care situation?

Oh, my goodness. How long do you have?

I will say this.

An hour and a half. We have an hour and 20 minutes.

I will say this. I will say that so much of where we are exactly right now is really

quite, I'm going to say devastating, but I'm not going to say shocking. And I say that because, right, there was a blueprint that told us that we were headed here.

And so when folks get surprised, I always look at them with a query, right?
