The first place I want to get into this with you is, I guess it's a couple years old, so it's

kind of out of date, but I just came across it. Your race report from the 2021 Cocodona, it's titled,

what a time to not be unalive, a Not So Appropriate Musing on the

Cocodon 250. And after reading it, I was trying to make sense of it. And it's like Hunter S. Thompson

meets Lord of the Rings meets Ultra Running. And there were some amazing bits in there. Why did you

choose the style you did? I actually don't know that it was that intentional.

I just felt like it was that, you know, I don't write race reports.

I've never written a race report.

And I think you could argue that I still haven't really written a race report,

even though that's kind of, you know, in that area.

But it's like, I just thought it would be interesting to kind

of write something that was not like, you know, like race reports a lot of times are like pretty

boring. They're just like, oh, and then I ate this. And then I felt like shit. And then I ate this.

And then I felt a little better. And then I, you know, it's like, I don't know who wants to read that stuff, but it's like, I just, I don't know,

I just thought it would be interesting to write something like what was actually just kind

of going on in, in my head the entire time, like as I pass people, like the things I think about.

And it just sort of came out in this very like sort of like punchy.
