Hey, everybody. Just want to start with a really brief note here. If you are coming to this episode

after, let's say, June 20th, then you might already know that there have been additional fresh

allegations against Michael Tate that are, I would say, an order of magnitude more serious than the ones that we discuss in this

episode. I'm leaving this episode up because I think that Tyson and I were able to talk about

the issue from multiple angles, some of which I think will be helpful and clarifying for people

and some of which were helpful and clarifying for me, some of the stuff

that Tyson brought. But, you know, our tone is maybe even a little joky. We are old friends

and podcasting lends itself to having a little bit of fun. Obviously, this is a serious situation,

but this was recorded before the more recent allegations that

really veer much more clearly into like criminal court proceedings type of territory,

like if Tate was charged, you know, maybe 10 years in jail territory.

That stuff had not come out at the time of this recording.

So I just wanted to be clear about that.

And there is some news in the world of Christian music culture that released yesterday,

June 4th, Michael Tate, the singer of DC Talk, and then after that, Newsboys, two massive bands in the

contemporary Christian music scene of the last 40 years, has been alleged via reporting by

Jessica Morris on the Roy's report of sexually assaulting three young men

between the years of 2004 and 2014.
