in the world of college basketball on Tuesday afternoon, Michael Porter Jr. The five star

freshman from Missouri had back surgery yesterday in Dallas and is expected to miss the remainder

of the 2017 18 college basketball season, which means that barring a surprise decision, his

college career will end with two minutes played. As you wrote, Norlander, obviously rough

news for Michael and his family for Missouri for the SEC. But also just for college basketball

in general, because though folks get into a habit of debating the one and done role,

and we spent some time on it on this podcast recently, if you're looking for one of the

positives of it, it's that it does not force, but certainly guide unique talents, incredibly

gifted young people into college basketball at least for a year. Michael Porter Jr. was

one of those guys and we won't get to see him. His college career is going to be two minutes.

He's one of one from the field and just a rough situation because they sold out that building

in Missouri. They were looking forward to the Michael Porter era, even if it was only going

to last a few months and now it only lasts a few minutes.
