Welcome back everybody to Post Wrestling, it is John Pollock here with you.

Our guest today was the host of TSN's Off the Record beginning in September of 1997,

a show that had many identities, one of which was becoming the go-to Canadian platform

for some of the biggest figures within professional wrestling out of character and treated like

any other industry in a serious form.

He's also the founder of Siknaut Week and it's my pleasure to welcome Michael Landsberg

to Post Wrestling.

Well thank you a lot for doing this.

Hey John, my pleasure and just to indicate how important this has been to my life.

I would say there's almost no day that goes by that someone doesn't call out to me on

a street or say in a conversation, hey Landsberg, love those wrestling interviews.

I mean, I can say that without boasting because I think they were awesome but I was only

a small part of why they were awesome.

So it's weird how even this length of time later, they still resonate with people.

Yeah, and we'll get into that.

I think they are really, for many people, it was these figures that did not do these types

of interviews out of character and to such a widespread audience but just quickly to give

people, just taking us back to 1997, the concept itself of Off the Record.

How is it pitched to you and was this something that signed me up immediately or was there

some trepidation because you're already a pretty established personality at TSN?

Yeah, I mean, I think that all of that, I think there was more excitement than trepidation.

I had done what was then Sports Desk, but Sports Center now.
