were happening and I think both things could be storylines and takeaways.

Maybe the raise proved to the Mets that the Mets just aren't at that level yet.

Maybe it was just a team dealing with the injury bug in a bad weekend at a really weird ballpark the Mets don't normally play at.

Andy wrote a column basically saying keep the faith.

The Mets are beat up, but they're a good team. They have depth. Andy, why is it early enough?

Let me start by asking you this, because this is the question that I had on my mind.

If you felt differently that you did not think the Mets were set up to endure this,

would you write that column today?

Like, would you write the Mets are screwed?

Uh, I think it's pretty early to be considered out of it at this point in the season.

So I would do that with hesitation.

Right.

I mean, I would be comfortable writing that column if I covered the Tigers at this in on May 17.

Right.
