Hi, Dr. Laura. I am grateful to be talking with you again.

Oh, what did you talk about the first time?

The first time we talked about me not trusting myself, I have bipolar one and was diagnosed late in life in my 40s.

I had an 18-month-long, supermanic phase that destroyed my family.

And I have been in treatment since and learned so much through psychoeducation, therapy, my medication, all the things.

I am a poster child for taking responsibility for my serious mental illness.

In my manic phase, I don't want to be salacious or anything, but I did act out sexually and yet destroyed my marriage and my family.

My daughters are now 25 and 23. One of the people that I acted out with, I ended up marrying.

My husband at the time could not handle what I did and I understand.

But this guy decided to stay and has walked with me through hell.

It took me years to recover from this 18-month-long manic phase and he has stayed with me through ECT and multiple hospitalizations and he is just a great guy.

My daughters, like I said, are 25 and 23 now. My 23-year-old has worked hard going to therapy herself and has forgiven everybody, my oldest.

I don't want to get too emotional. I need some tough love because she cannot forgive me.

I'm sorry. Why should I give you tough love when somebody else is having trouble accepting certain things in life?

I need to translate. If she has written me off, sorry.

If she has written me off and doesn't want a relationship, I keep trying and it's very painful.

I keep trying to be a mother to her and it's not working.

And now a friend because she's 25 and on her own.

I don't know if I just need to accept that she's not going to forgive me and just doesn't want a relationship.
