Hey guys, so last week on For The Good of the Order, I shared that famous story about

the farmer who's horse ran away and horse returned and horse through his son just as a way

of resetting our reactions to what we do and do not get offered in life.

And my particular example was college acceptances because this is the season where another round

of 18-year-olds is living and dying on whatever comes through their email box from whatever

college they dreamed of.

And I wanted to share this next thought as a follow-on to that for everyone who does

not have a kid in this class, for everyone who is behind this class.

If you are not this person, please share this with somebody with a kid in middle school

or high school.

One day, not so many years ago, I read two long articles back to back on the role parents

play in their children's stress and success and I made a decision.

When they came through the kitchen door that afternoon, I said, girls, I have an announcement.

They looked alarmed.

I no longer want to see or discuss your grades.

Georgia wanted to know what I meant exactly.
