| 0:00.0 | Ladies, ladies, ladies, let's talk about something that every single woman will go through, but no one is prepared us for it and no one is talking about it. Do you have a wake up and look in the mirror and just not recognize that reflection that's looking back at you? And you start to wonder like, how do I end up losing myself? Maybe like let's say your body has changed in different ways that you don't recognize, maybe your confidence has taken a bit of a nose dive and you have no idea why. And all those things that you have worked on that finally feel certain and comfortable and confident in your lives like your career or your relationships or your identity then end up feeling like it's some shaky ground. If any of that sounds familiar then let me do one big bold statement. That's right. It is not in your imagination. That's right, ladies. We are talking about the mid-life. And what comes with that is parry menopause and menopause. The ends up slowly creeping in. And so this episode is absolutely a stake in the ground to say that we are done suffering. We are done questioning, we are done wondering, and we are finally going to start talking about the real stuff that people don't want to talk about, including our emotions and how it actually impacts us as well as the practical stuff. Now I've got in their house the amazing Thames and Fadal who's an Emmy winning journalist a menopause advocate and an all round I'm telling you, Freckin Bados has made a her-down mission to educate and empower us women through the transition. And that is what will make a difference between you making the transition with bad-assery, with strength, with confidence, or you're just whiter-knuckling it, trying to hold on for damn dear life. Now, we start with all now why divorce rates actually skyrocket during perimenopause and what the hell is actually happening to our relationships during that period. We also just rip off the bandaid and discuss how the shifting in our hormones is actually secretly just messing with our confidence, our energy and to be quite honest, possibly our ambition. I know that I felt it and then of course we don't just leave it hanging. We talk about how the hell we can take back the control of our body, our mindset, so that we don't feel alone, so that we can build back that confidence that maybe we have lost, so that we don't feel like the best years of our lives are behind us. This isn't about just coping. This is about actually freaking running your life the way you want to and making sure that you have the power and strength to do so. So guys this is Jumping Right Now with Tamsam Fatale on Women of Impact at this |
| 2:29.8 | episode. freaking running your life the way you want to and making sure that you have the power and the strength to do so. |
| 2:25.9 | So guys, this is Jumping Right Now with Tamsam Fattel on Women of Impact. If this episode brought you value, please share it with another homie in your life, another lady that could be struggling. I'm telling you guys, that is how we end up making global change. So if you want to be a part of it, let's get together, share this episode, now, this time in. It is crazy, but the worst rate skyrocket during our mid life. |
| 2:47.2 | So why aren't there so many marriages for the part and how can we actually start to protect our love from becoming another heart-breaking statistic? Yeah, and I didn't realize the correlation between those two things early on. I was like, okay, you're here, you're in your 40s, maybe life is changing, but there's a lot changing all the same time. |
| 3:05.6 | You might be at the height of your career, |
| 3:07.5 | if a place that you've looked at forever. Your kids, it might be empty nest. Your parents are aging and you've been in a relationship for a very, very long time. But on top of all that stuff is the thing we never talked about, which was health changes, how your body changes, maybe you don't recognize yourself anymore. |
| 3:24.2 | So we're seeing those numbers rise a lot |
| 3:26.8 | initiated by women. |
| 3:28.1 | And in some cases, it's because women have decided, hey, I want something different and I know who I am. I definitely am different than I was when I was 20 years old. In other cases it's because women are not sure exactly what's going on and they're feeling a lack of confidence in different areas and it might be attributed to a relationship. This is one of those moments where honestly my heart bleeds. If you've been looking at your whole life and you've been serving other people and maybe you found someone that you love more than life itself and you've dedicated your life to them and the family and then you get to a point and now you don't recognize yourself anymore. It feels like your entire life will unravel in that moment. So is it that we have changed |
| 4:06.3 | and therefore the partner we are with |
| 4:08.1 | no longer aligns with who we have become? |
| 4:10.9 | Or is it we have been putting ourselves lost |
| 4:14.5 | every single step of the way |
| 4:16.3 | and then we finally put ourselves first |
| 4:18.2 | and realize this isn't the life I want? |
| 4:20.2 | I think it's both. |
| 4:21.0 | I mean, you were in a relationship, |
| 4:22.2 | you've been in it for a long time |
| 4:23.5 | in maybe things have changed. |
| 4:25.0 | Hopefully your values are aligned and you know what those are and those have stayed the same. |
| 4:29.0 | But if who you are has changed and you've gone down these paths through the course of 10, 20, 30 years, if it's that you're now putting yourself first and that doesn't align with somebody, then that's got to be addressed too. And as you evolve into these other places, |
| 4:43.3 | if the person you're with is not expecting that |
