and by Dr. Adam Francisco to move back into for a minute some CS Lewis content.

It's working out well for us.

I think there's a lot of new listeners to the show who were brought in by that content,

and we appreciate being able to hit a topic that people are interested in.

But today we're going to start a three-part series on a book by Lewis called The Abolition of Man.

It's a short book, and it was originally a lecture or a series of lectures given.

Three lectures at University of Durham, 1943.

Which is essentially a response to a book on English education and then Lewis's own

ideas and values on education, the purpose, the place, what we're actually trying to

accomplish in educating children and sort of where

that leaves society.

And I think the way I want to approach this is through the, so that we can get a particular

spin on it and maybe a particularly Lutheran spin on it, is I want to approach it through a vocational angle.

And that might help us transition into a different series that we've talked about doing for a while,

which is actually doing an explicit series on vocation.
