Yesterday, my book launched.

And we marked the occasion with an extravaganza, a virtual celebration, communing with all the GFOPs across the nation who had stepped up to pre-order it.

And to mark that moment, there was only one human being I wanted to be in conversation with, and that was John Green.

This podcast is the entirety of that interaction, one in which I discovered my Lord, John Green, is the BL server of book talks.

Let's just say the deep preparation that he poured into this conversation, the humanity that he invested in the moment.

I mean, I'm teaping this about an hour after we finished. I'm several more birds in, and I'm still blown away by the thoughts, the love, the empathy, the John devoted to mark this special day in my life.

This day, the proudest and most nerve-wracking day of my professional life on which I don't know if you've heard my new book, Reborn in the USA, is come out into the world.

That love letter to America at a time when it feels like our nation really do with one.

It's been the most nerve-wracking day of my professional life. I really did give this book everything that I have. And tonight, I want to celebrate in the only way I know how by communicating with you,

mecking down a few sweet Bud fan blood fans and talking about books and life and football, honestly, I've never seen any difference between those three. They're all the same to me. So I'm going to do it with you, with your questions. That'll be the second part of this evening of Wonder.

But first, I want to introduce the blue with you. I've got the honour of chatting tonight. A bloke who's a great friend at the pod. He's a great friend to me. He's also my hero, both as a human being, and as a writer who's carried himself with authenticity and vulnerability out into the world with book after book from fault in our stars to his recent best seller, anthropocene reviewed, which came out last month.

And it opens with a meditation on Liverpool fandom, and you'll never walk alone. Surprisingly, no essay on Martin Scurthle, but it remains the joy of my day to launch the book tonight in conversation with a welcome to my mate, a man who shines even brighter than Bobby for me, those teeth. Mr. John Green.

Hello, Raj. I have, I got champagne just for this. I got a tiny little bottle of champagne just for this moment. You got a child bottle of champagne. I get a tiny little baby bottle of champagne, the kind that give it like seven year olds to say cheers and congratulations on the publication of reborn in the USA. It's such a wonderful book.
