Part two, baby. Oh, man. Will we ever not do that? I don't think so. This is part two of our

conversation on teaching your kids to master something to master a skill. I can't remember what

we titled the real episode, but we will figure it out by the time

we actually title it and put it out there. But if you missed part one, we really talked about the

why behind giving our kids opportunities for deep, focused learning, what we're calling mastery.

So in this episode, we're going to get practical, how to write a mastery contract, what it looks like by age,

and what to do when your child wants to quit. Yes, thank you for being here and being a part of the

members only episodes. We were talking about the practical side of the conversation we had a while ago, which is based

off of your notes from integrated this last April.

There was a whole session on teaching your kids how to master something and why it matters

and what the heart is behind it so that it's not just like, we do ballet, we do this. Like we do because we were

told to or because our parents did or because our neighbors do. Like what is the reason for your

kids doing the things they do? And last time it was very much about like, yeah, we kind of talked

about the why, but we didn't get super practical. Talked about how too much privilege can lead to no expectation of greatness.

Like that's definitely more where our generation sits in parenting.

Yep.

Talked a lot about, which we've talked about many times, actually, the study and then the

like format of parenting where you have both both high expectations and high

support um we've talked about that many times but we did go over that and then we talked a little bit of

support is like this scale and there's definitely a default that you have like I definitely default to like high support

lower expectations and so expectations yeah and so it just like you know I think ours are low
