Good morning. I'm Anna Palmer. And I'm Max Cohen. And welcome to The Daily Punch, brought to you by Punchable News. It's Wednesday, August 6th, 2025. Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the morning. Number one, lawmakers are heading to Israel as the crisis in Gaza deepens.

Number two, Dems are pushing for more info on what will happen if Obamacare subsidies lapse at the end of the year.

And number three, inside Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski's big, beautiful bill pitch.

Max, thanks so much once again for joining us and filling in for Jake this week on the

Daily Punch. We are starting this morning with an item that John Bresdenahan wrote, looking at kind of

not only the meta situation in Israel and Gaza, but in the particular, and really what it deals

with us. And our focus is on lawmakers heading to Israel, despite the fact that the crisis in Gaza continues

and just the overall global implications as a lot of concern around the world and in the U.S.

about what is happening in terms of the humanitarian crisis.

Yeah, and I think one of the most notable parts about this item

that Bres wrote is the fact that over 20 House Democrats are heading to Israel this week

in a trip organized by Steny Hoyer and Pete Aguilar. These are two stalwart supporters of Israel

within the Democratic caucus in the House. At a time when being a pro-Israel supporter is really growing out of favor

among many Democrats. But I think the disparity here between what the base is saying, which is let's

cut off aid to Israel, we'll try to isolate Netanyahu, and what a lot of Democrats are saying,

which is we're still going to stand by Israel, even if we don't agree with the Netanyahu government.
