So, thisologist studied biological anthropology at Cambridge, got a PhD at Penn State,

and is currently doing a postdoc in quantitative and computational biology at USC University

of Southern California.

And she hosts the PBS Digital Studios series Why Am I Like This, which has the best title

ever, and starting this fall in 2023, she's going to have her own lab as an assistant

professor of anthropology at the University of Michigan.

So while she was in LA, she came over one afternoon to sit on the couch and chat, melanonology,

melanonology, which yes, I did find examples of this word used in published work to describe

this study of biological pigment.

And the root means dark, and we're going to get right into it.
