With the climate crisis unfolding every day, what can newsrooms do to budget more time,

more money, more reporters to the subject of climate change? In Florida, the answer is an unlikely partnership,

a collaboration between six newsrooms across the state.

Welcome to this week's Reliable Sources Podcast. I'm your host Brian Stelter and

this weekly podcast is our chance to go more in-depth with media leaders and

newsmakers. This week I have three people with me who are part of the Florida Climate Reporting Network,

leading the way in the state of Florida and improving and increasing coverage of this issue.

With me are Julie Anderson,

she's the editor-in-chief of the South Florida Sun Sentinel

and the Orlando Sentinel.

Mark Ketchis, he's the executive editor of the Tampa Bay Times. And from the Miami Herald,

Alex Harris, the only dedicated climate change reporter right now among these six newsrooms.

We will get into more detail about how it formed, but what are you all trying to accomplish?

We're trying to pull together as many resources as we can to do dedicated reporting on

the climate crisis in Florida.

We felt like none of us could do the job alone

and but we thought we could do a pretty good job

if we pulled our resources together
