Welcome to meet the press now. I'm Kelly O'Donnell in Washington. At this hour, we are

0:16.1

closely following breaking news out of Jamaica, where Hurricane Melissa made landfall just a few hours ago,

0:22.6

at that time at a category five, making it the most powerful storm to hit the island in its

0:28.0

recorded history with winds of up to 185 miles an hour. Now, the storm was just downgraded a moment

0:34.7

ago to a category four and is right now still packing winds of up to

0:39.4

150 miles per hour. It's projected to Passover Montego Bay, a popular tourist destination.

0:46.5

And officials are warning of catastrophic flooding, landslides, and severe damage caused by the

1:23.5

minister, the first woman to ever hold that office. But it was the president's address to a

1:28.4

gathering of U.S. troops that is drawing scrutiny, as the commander-in-chief delivered a campaign-style

1:34.0

speech that veered at times into partisan politics. Unlike past administrations, we will not be

1:42.7

politically correct. You don't mind that, J. Yeah. When it comes to defending the United States, we will not be politically correct.

1:45.1

You don't mind that to you?

1:50.4

When it comes to defending the United States, we're no longer politically correct.

1:55.6

We're going to defend our country any way we have to, and that's usually not the politically correct way.

1:58.5

During his remarks, the president laid out how he views the military's role in achieving

2:03.3

some of his top priorities, starting with a crackdown on drugs flowing into the U.S., saying the U.S.
