I'm your host, Connor Rogers, joined as always by my co-host, Joe DeMayo. And Joe,

we start off today's episode with kind of a tidal wave of news since we lasted an episode of the Mets pod.

The Mets have a new manager in Carlos Mendoza, and that's where we will absolutely start this conversation.

But they've also made a big front office move hiring Eduardo Bresuela, who was with the Brewers for a very long time.

David Stern spoke to the media at the GM meetings and

Stearns had a lot of interesting things to say. Very, how do I put this? It's not just well spoken, but a personable kind of front office executive in David Stearns. He's definitely worth to listen to. I think every time he speaks to the New York media going forward. But let's start with the big one. I feel like the fan base is a little

caught off guard, to be honest with you, Joe, by Carlos Mendoza. And this often happens in sports

when a coach, manager, somebody is hired, and it wasn't a name that the fan base was prepped for for maybe a week,

maybe a couple weeks, sometimes even a month, like a Craig Counsel kind of a name.

Or even look at the Mets last hire in Buck Showalter.

I think that was a name that we had heard in the news cycle for a little bit before that hiring

became official. Carlos Mendoza felt like it was about a 48-hour cycle that this all rapidly
