Summary

Meditation: A Listening Presence (2020-02-05) - The receptivity of listening awakens us to the living stream of life. This meditation guides us in listening to sounds, and then listening to and feeling the aliveness of our bodies and the movement of the breath. We close with a simple offering of lovingkindness to our inner life and our world.

0:30.0	Find yourself into a posture that is upright.
0:49.4	So you're sitting tall and in a way that can help you to feel alert.
0:55.4	And also sitting in a way that's balanced, not leading to either side, forward or back.
1:04.0	And then a way that's relaxed.
1:07.2	So while you're holding yourself upright, you're letting whatever can relax, relax.
1:15.7	As you close your eyes and let your attention go inward, you might feel the movement of
1:21.4	the breath at your heart.
1:28.2	Become aware of whatever you notice in the heart area.
1:34.4	And listening inwardly, ask yourself, what really brings me here right now to meditation?
1:45.6	What is it I'm longing for?
1:49.2	What's my deepest intention in meditating?
1:56.8	And listen for what feels most sincere.
2:05.7	What is it your heart is longing for?
2:13.7	What's the quality of presence or way of being in the world that matters to you?
2:27.3	Invite you to continue listening.
2:31.6	And just sense what happens in your body as you listen to the sounds around you, including
2:36.0	the alarm.
2:41.6	Listening other sounds you might detect.
2:45.6	A listening attention.
2:49.9	So you're listening into the space around you.
