Hello mediocre nation I am Eric tomorrow and this is a special announcement.

There's going to be a new wrinkle to the mediocre show.

Don't worry nothing is ending nothing is changing.

Think of this as a value added bonus. It's there if you want it. If you don't, well fine then. See if I care, go fuck yourselves.

Being as this drops just before the holidays, this announcement is like that gift to your dad forgot to get until it dawned on him at 1130 on Christmas Eve.

So he ordered the gift online, printed out the web page, wrapped that, and put that under the Christmas tree.

It's not so much the gift, but a promise of the gift to come,

probably sometime in January, but it's the thought that counts, right?

As we grind closer to the 10-year anniversary of the mediocre show, I felt like I wanted to do something we don't do much on the show, and that is to talk about podcasting itself.

I'll be talking to other podcasters about behind the scenes stuff that never really gets talked about.

The emotions behind it, the reasons we do it, the reasons people stop doing it,

Bobby, but mostly I want to shine a little bit of light on the people who don't get mentioned when some website or another decides it's time to do their yearly little peek into the world of podcasting.

Not every one of us had a successful stand-up career before turning on these mics, but on the other hand I'd like to talk to some of those stand-ups because I'm pretty sure they have some interesting stories to tell too.

I mean you guys know when I started the show in 2005 I was just a single guy working a job that didn't matter

dreaming of being in talk radio now that I've been doing it for nearly 10 years I'm married to an

amazing lady we have an awesome son and my job is

fucking awesome. All that and I still have the show I dreamed of and I still enjoy

doing it every week. I was kicking this idea around with Bobby Roberts of the recently

deceased welcome to that whole thing podcast and I couldn't come up with a name

for it. We spitballed for a little bit and once he got done coming up with
