Our own message asks us.

What is the ruling on availing ourselves to medicine and medicinal procedures?

Is every single medicine or procedure obligatory?

Or can someone choose to not undertake a procedure?

And if it is obligatory, to what extent must one go to do the procedure?

So this is our question.

This is actually a very, very relevant and interesting question.

And one that frankly, one can give a very long talk about, but we don't have time.

I'm going to summarize.

So the Qur'an and the Sunnah obviously mention diseases and cures and medicines as well.

Allah says in the Qur'an on the tongue of ibrahim al-is-sallam, he says,

When I fall sick, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala cures me.

And Allah Azza wa Jalla mentions a cure in the Qur'an.

And that is of course of honey.

And Allah says,

And our prophet,
