Welcome to Media Roots Radio. This is Abby Martin. Recently, my friend Eric and I had an amazing opportunity

to interview one of our favorite musicians, John van der Slice,

at his tiny telephone studio.

John van der Slice is an American-born songwriter and producer living in San Francisco, California.

His politically aware, reverent songwriting has set him apart from other independent musicians

in similar genres.

John runs the all-anologue recording studio Tiny Telephone, where Spoon and Death Cab for

Cutie have recorded.

He's also gained notoriety for various projects

ranging from a Microsoft hoax to performing with Magic Magic Orchestra.
