When the Minnesota Vikings were down, when they were struggling, when J.J. McCarthy had

thrown a pick six, when they were 0 for eight on third downs, the huddle j j mccarthy said to his teammates

where would you guys rather be than right here right now now i don't think that j j mccarthy

even knows that those are the famous words of marv levy the hall of fame buffalo bills head coach but

they are and it worksed for them and it worked

for J.J. McCarthy. Guys in the huddle said that at that moment, it got them kind of loose,

locked back in and like, yeah, where would we rather be? Let's go. And the Vikings score three

times in the fourth quarter to come back and beat the Chicago Bears.

So what I want to do, Dane here, I want to go from start to finish with this game.

Clearly, the bigger picture is that J.J. McCarthy is 1 and O and that he did not wilt in the

biggest moment. But I want to start with the beginning of this game and how poorly the Minnesota

Vikings offense began. I think a lot of us chalked it up at the the beginning of this game and how poorly the Minnesota Vikings offense began. I think a lot

of us chalked it up at the very beginning of the game to, hey, it's JJ McCarthy's first start and

he looks a little nervous out there and he's having a little trouble getting everything lined up

and called and checking into stuff. But as it went on, I think it was reasonable for a lot of people to be like,

any time now, Minnesota Vikings' offense, and of course about three quarters of the way through

the game, it was continuing to look that bad.
