In Northern Ireland, from the late 70s to the early 90s, the IRA killed over 40 alleged informers.

But the man who often found, tortured and sometimes killed these people on behalf of the IRA

was himself an informer, a secret British army agent with the codename Stakeknife.

Welcome, John. Hi. You're okay? I'm good. How are you? I'm okay, thank you.

Can you tell us a little bit about your service role in the impact that had on your life as you left

service? So I joined the military when I was 16 years of age and obviously it's on a five year,

five year stretch. And then obviously when I left the military,

just like a downhill spiral, obviously financial.

Everything was financially, you know, not great.

And from going one thing to another, just very difficult to leaving.
